Are there any planned engineering works or unexpected transmitter faults on the Thanet (Kent, England) mast?

No problems on any service. BBC

UK Free TV shows the coverage area for a radio transmitter as a coloured overlay (orange for FM, other colours for DAB) on the grey map. We have computed the coverage by combining the terrain with the official radiation pattern. A single click will select the transmitter to view the coverage for a single site, and a double click goes to a page showing full details. Click on the buttons in the right-hand corner of the map to choose from different frequencies (or multiplexes for DAB).

Brian - I wish I knew who to complain to. In desperation I mailed the BBC, but they sent a nice reply back saying that they commiserated but can only investigate issues specifically regarding their transmitters, which D1 National is not.

Brian I know it is a bit of a faff but the aerial you have is very directional and very high gain ( and very good) for a dab so if you are interested in classical and not as much on local try a different transmitter

Brian: Marbar. Thanks for your advise. Next week I will try turning it and see what happens. However there is still a problem with our local transmitter. Do you know how I can contact D1.
Thanks
Brian

Don Barber; Brian: There is a "Transmission Problem" form on Digital One's website:

ukdigitalradio: Stay in Touch

It might be worth dropping them a line and providing a link to this page where two people in the same area have an issue.

Brian...shhh! Not so loud. I'm mouthing this so no-one can hear, but I think....its fixed! I've been dipping into classicfm over the last couple of days and witnessed no signal fading, and for the first time in ages I actually fell asleep listening to it last night, instead of having to turn it off. What about you? Here's hoping!

Don. I also have an improvement. The signal appears to have reverted to the quality as before. On one radio I have a signal strength of 96%. Lets hope it lasts.

I just got a nice little portable DAB radio.
I live in Broadstairs, Kent and I got it to scan for DAB channels. It found more than 10 but although the radio has an LCD display, it puts all the channels in C01, C02, C03 etc so I don't know which channel is which. On top of that I take my dog for a walk twice daily and take the radio with me but whatever channel I listen to it breaks up constantly so it rather defeats the object of having DAB. I can't believe that there is a DAB transmitter in Broadstairs.

Fortunately the radio also has FM which is a much better reception.
