I will try a freeview box with existing loft aerial to begin with. I'm trying to do it easiest way possible so am starting with the simplest and working through the ideas you both suggested.

I have Sky+ on my main tv but just use a loft aerial for terestrial channels in the bedroom. Now that Sandy Heath has made the switch over to digital the bedroom tv no longer picks up channels. Could I buy a "Sky magic eye" to receive from the sky+ box or would the bedroom tv need its own digibox?
